Our Story

Cosmic Heirloom is a new historical documentary born from a powerful family collaboration between half-brothers David Moss and Brian Craig Hinderberger.

David was one of the earliest believers in Brian’s documentary work, serving as executive producer and featured voice in the award-winning films Ambient Caregiver and Longevity Beta Tester. He also helped produce the music documentary series Song of Sunset, further strengthening a creative partnership built on bold ideas and meaningful storytelling.

Outside of filmmaking, David is a leading voice in longevity innovation, developing Ambient Operating System technology by Care Daily which is designed to improve life for caregivers, older adults, and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Alongside his work in health technology, he has spent years researching the forgotten and fascinating history of psilocybin—uncovering a story that spans ancient ritual, scientific discovery, censorship, and cultural rebirth.

After David delivered a sold-out two-hour speakeasy presentation in Seattle on the hidden history of psilocybin, Brian recognized the cinematic potential immediately. He told David that a story this compelling belonged on film. From that moment, the brothers decided to join forces and create a documentary together.

The result is Cosmic Heirloom is a visually rich and fun investigative film written and directed by two brothers united by curiosity, creativity, and a shared desire to tell stories that matter. Joining them is acclaimed cinematographer Jordan Chamberlain, bringing the project to life through immersive and cinematic imagery.
